Many Highly Sensitive Persons (or HSPs, for short), describe a feeling of  "isolation" in the world-- often because they have discovered their HSP trait, but then feel like they have no real "peers" with whom they can discuss what it really means to be highly sensitive.

Dr. Elaine Aron, whose research gave rise to the concept "Highly Sensitive Person," speaks of the importance of HSPs finding and cultivating "peer friendships." After all, nobody knows more about what it is like to be an HSP, than another HSP. This article by Marcia Norris appeared in Dr. Aron's "Comfort Zone" Newsletter for HSPs, and speaks eloquently of the feelings of connection and validation that comes with spending time with other HSPs.

What you can find on the HSP Support web site:
This web site endeavors to list as many "support" resources as possible, to help HSPs get in contact with each other.

The site is divided into two areas. One section covers ways for HSPs to connect on the Internet, through online forums, listservs, mailing lists and discussion groups for Highly Sensitive People. The other section covers ways for HSPs to connect with each other in the "real world," through HSP events, workshops, local support groups and social groups.

If you are reading this and belong to a group you would like to see listed here, please follow the "Get Your Group Listed" link, at left.
